Whuooohoooo! Leaving the Trailer Court Behind

We’ve only lived in one for three years, but that was more than enough for me. Our trailer in and of itself is tolerable. A bit of a squeeze, but we could handle it. It’s the neighbors that got to all of us. Not most of the neighbors; the ones next door.

The wife is a drama queen who loves nothing better than to put on loud and obnoxious shows for anyone who will pay attention, generally at odd and unpleasant hours. The husband is a slack jawed mouth breather who is friendly enough most of the time, but plays into the wife’s dramas and likes a confrontation. The son is a geek who keeps his head down. I think he’s all right. The daughter is The Girl’s age but acts like a nine year old. She likes to lie and isn’t above dragging The Girl’s name through the mud if she thinks she can get away with it.

The whole family has gone through a variety of pets, mostly Saint Bernards who they underfeed. They consider themselves upstanding citizens if they get around to picking up the poop once a day, and don’t see anything wrong with a dog that size who likes to jump on people. They generally used to keep these poor creatures on a rope long enough for the animals to enjoy themselves on MY porch. After the police were called in the last time (they call in the police on one another about once every couple of months) the last of the dogs disappeared and no others have appeared. Yet.

In the last few months they’ve taken to dealing drugs and using nitrous. Their customers like to take up our parking spots. We see them carrying bags of nitrous cartridges to the garbage sometimes. With so much going out routinely, you gotta wonder if they have any brain cells left. The other day the husband walked out with a bong in his hand, stumbled into the parking lot and lit up in his car. Did I mention he’s a mouth breather?

Don’t get me started on their derelict cars. Seriously. This post has gone on long enough already. I’ll just say that seeing all the times they talked about having found a place and being on the verge of moving – the teases – it’s kind of fun that we are moving out first.

No, the house isn’t totally fixed up yet, but it’s close enough to live in.
