How can I tell that no human actually read my post before the bot tried to leave a spam comment? By the nature of the spam. For instance:
1. “Searching for this for some time now – i guess luck is more advanced than search engines :)” by mafia wars how to hide showed up on Ah Maria, How Can He Measure Up?, and Suzie’s House 123: No Good Deed with the exact same wording on both.
2. “Thank you very noble blog” from detox diet recipe on Sleepy Hollow in 13 Words. THAT was noble? Could have fooled me.
3. How about this one: “I took 1 st loans when I was 20 and it supported my family a lot. However, I need the term loan once more time.” from GEORGINASwanson23 on 275/365 Mural on the Right. Come on, spammers, fix your grammar at least. Actually, they get much worse.
4. “I was very pleased to find this site.I wanted to thank you for this great read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it and I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.” by Adelina Conforti who linked to a cassino page on Tudor Follies Continued – Anne Boleyn. I’ll bet you are, since if I let this through it would suit your purposes. Thing is, I would let it through if I hadn’t seen a thousand versions of this already.
5. “This is a superb topic you all have happening. I enjoy the combination of excellent and correct info coupled with a few intellectual ideas. It really is nice to finally come across excellent articles where I feel like I can trust the information and also admire those who who post it. Considering the online waste today I always appreciate discovering some real voices on the web. Thanks for blogging and keep writing, please!!” by Ferne Berendzen on Welcome Kimberly Alan. Real voice? Like you?
6. “I loved your post. Thanks Again.” by Sidney Iacobelli on 13 Things On My Mind. This one was really tempting, but there is nothing about it to indicate a person on the other end actually read the post.
7. “A few years ago I remember watching a TV show that said that the guy who played “Rick” on Magnum P.I. owns the Ferrari from the show.” by Lahoma Podesta on By George! Prince George and His Sticky Wicket. And this has to do with George IV in what way?
8. “Such a well written post.. Thnkx for sharing this post!” by make 15k fast on 322/365 Tree House. That post has no words.
9. “This is a terrific post, but I was wondering how do I suscribe to the RSS feed?” by Loriann Lipoma on Box of Books Give Away. It’s right there in the very top, right corner above my header. See? Ah, that’s right. If he or she could see, he’d know the Box of Books Give Away is a contest that closed months ago.
10. “Peace and love for you at Christmas from all your students.” by university of Lethbridge (though the link didn’t go there) on Table Setting: Various Styles. Comment left on JUNE 8th. Huh?
11. “Hi buddy, your blog’s design is simple and clean and i like it. Your blog posts are superb. Please keep them coming. Greets!!!” by how to get c4 in mafia wars on 13 Flashers. How I wish I could take this one personally.
12. “Good afternoon, thanks for the post? Is your site a free theme or custom? I am interested by your blog. Is it feasible to include this article on one of my blogs?, i will of course link to this blog. Many Thanks” by Avaliacoes da tifacil on 86/365 Where’s the Beef? What is it with all the spammers asking technical questions? It’s like being asked the details of one’s undergarments. Also, my copyright policy can easily be found if you click the button in my sidebar.
13. “I found this post extremely revealing. thankyou very much!” by key west motels on Fwd: Live long enough to be a REAL concern to your kids. See the first part of the post title where it says “Fwd”? That means I simply posted one of those emails someone forwarded to me. It’s got nothing to do with me personally.
At least the ones that insult me in various ways have decreased. For a while there I was amazed at the nasty things bots were saying to me. Did they really think I’d ever consider letting it post? Sheesh.
