Last Thursday I posted a list of some of the spam that has tried to insinuate it’s way into the comments on my blog. In that list was simply a number. Today I’m going to talk all about that number.
The number is 194.8.75.141. This is a number that marks a particular person, the one who is sending me the most spam. I took that number to a site that can match it up with the the person’s personal information. What I wanted was this person’s ISP so I could see if he (Andrey would be a guy, right?) was in breach of his Terms of Service and could maybe get kicked off.
Cause I’m getting tired of Andrey. He’s cluttering up my spam cue, which makes it harder to fish out the folks who should not have been caught there.
What I got instead was his home address. He’s from the British Virgin Islands. Glamorous, no? I’m getting spammed in style.
So If I wanted to show up on his doorstep, theoretically I could. That’s more effort than it’s worth. But I can’t get him tossed for his TOS breach. Because his ISP turns out to be him.
So I’ll just keep deleting him and maybe I’ll add a little curse. Any guesses what I wish for him?
