“I can’t believe he would do that right here in the office. I mean, isn’t dating against the rules? I mean, really.” She huffed as she looked around the break room.
“So? What did you say,” her friends asked.
“I said ‘no’, of course. “And then I changed my mind and said ‘yes.’ You only live once.”

1. I’d planned on doing my Thursday Thirteen on Beijing today, but I’m too tired to pull it off. Instead, I’m upholding my long time tradition of talking about things totally at random.
Shreds of golden sunlight splashed on the glass and brick fronts of the historic buildings on State Street. Maybe a few dozen people per block wandered along it. Stores were closing here and there while the day trade gave way to night.
Drew guessed he had been out of it for a couple of hours. He had no idea what made the hallucinations pass, only that once he could actually see out of his eyes, he found Trent sitting on a nearby bench with what looked like the greater part of the university’s cheerleading squad standing around.
Featured Author: Old Egg whom I haven’t honored in entirely too long. Yeah, a little ironic when he’s going on hiatus to refill the creative springs, but there it is.

I’ve never thought of Winter as a good time to catch a sunset. Maybe it’s just that I’m such a house dweller. I just don’t get out to see the sunsets much when merely standing there will send chills down your spine and make your feet turn blue. But lately I’ve been catching some real impressive ones out my window. It’s not that the view is all that good, but the colors are something else.
I’ve never been any good at taking pictures of sunsets. Sunsets, the moon, and macro are all a challenge. But lately I’ve been getting more practice with macro, and thanks to the sunsets we’ve been having, I think I’m getting better at sunsets.
It seems the secret is to set the camera on manual. Who’d have thought? 😉 Well, I still have a ways to go, but any progress should be celebrated.
Jack: So? What did you think of my landing?
Jill: It was a little rough.

“Hey there beautiful. Know what day it is?” He stood over her desk with his hands behind his back and a smile on his lips.
“Yeah. Single’s awareness day.” She stamped the invoice extra hard.
“Not anymore.” He handed her a jeweler’s box. “Not unless you want it to be.”

Since were coming up on one of those days when people like to go out to eat, I thought I’d do a quick overview of restaurants in Mongolia.
1. Sometimes they look like gers. This one was made of wood and was part of our camp in the Gobi Desert.
Trent liked it here. Some of the people got uncomfortable when you lent them a hand, but a lot were fine with it. Much better than places like New York City where he’d be treated like a total lunatic. But still not as nice as Missoula where folks might well lend you a hand in any kind of harmless tom foolery.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve used my Monday post to just talk about what’s going on in my life. Somehow Mongolia completely consumed my blog. I’ve given over to vacations before. Galapagos got a fair amount of airtime as did Belize, but Mongolia took the cake.
Jill: Jack, are you flying this thing? But the only thing you’ve ever flown was the X-box.
Jack: Someone had to do it.
Jill: What about the pilot and co-pilot?
Jack: Went sky diving. Took the only parachutes.
Jill: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
Jack: But what bothers me is I can’t see anywhere to land in all these mountains. Hey wait, is that a lake? @#%^, it has an island.
