I bought three food things while I was in Cabo last summer, and have already finished a couple of them off. Turns out I can only find one in the local stores. Can you guess which?

Yes. It’s a pumpkin. A big one. Yes, it’s sitting in my living room right now. Yes, it is amazingly old. No, I don’t know what I’m doing with it.
“You’re kidding, right? You don’t really expect me to play that, do you?” Gene’s upper lip curled in derision.
“Sure. Why not?” Diane set the Monopoly board in the middle of the kitchen table. “I’ll be the bank.”
Who says Monopoly is a kids game? It was a great way to keep the boys occupied until it got late enough that she could send them to bed. What time were twelve year olds supposed to go to bed, anyway? Wait, Gene was thirteen, wasn’t he? Diane couldn’t remember. She’d tried to put them to bed at 9pm the first couple of nights, which proved disastrous. Then last night she let them pick their own bed time and hand ended up collecting them at the front door from the police when they broke curfew. Maybe if she suggested it later, say 10 pm. She needed to kill time.
“Who wants to be the top hat?” She beamed at them in a way they would probably think was totally false.
Trigvey stood outside the hospital, looking up into a rainy sky. Water ran off his face, dripping down the back of his scrubs and drenching the front.
“Dr. Taylor, we need you,” the nurse called from inside.
“Yes, I know.” But he didn’t move.
He should go home to his empty apartment. It least there he would make no mistakes.

This is an echo of a scene in Moving In
February 3rd 2010. I have GOT to remember that date. It was/is the day I graduated from the ranks of the want-to-be-s into the ranks of published authors. It’s publication day for Moving In. How am I feeling?
1. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Well. It’s about time!
3. Oh no. What if no one is interested?
4. Silly. I know at least a few people are interested. Haven’t they been telling me so all month?
5. Oh no. Now I have to promote it.
6. I am so not good at this.
7. Quit laughing. I’m serious.
8. I better make sure my blog – tour blogs are ready.
9. I wish I’d gotten my web site fixed up. Maybe later.
10. I wish I’d done my promo video. Too bad The Girl bailed on me.
11. I hope I haven’t already worn everyone out with this.
12. I hope the people who read it like it.
13. What I’m I forgetting? Oh yeah. SQUEEEEEE.
