In the last couple of weeks Ben has really gone through the ringer. “You aren’t really going to do it, are you?” Gene asked Ben, but he already knew, and he wasn’t so sure how he felt about it. English class was almost over, and still the story Ben wrote was in his folder. When was he going to give it to Mrs. D? And what would Mrs. D. do? Whatever she did wasn’t gunna to be pretty, and would […]
When the official Thursday Thirteen hub went down I freaked out, and not quietly either. I just couldn’t let it go. Apparently, I don’t have to. There are plenty of us still willing to do it. Don’t believe me? Check it out, these are all people who did Thursday Thirteen last week: 1. PDQ Nation I had a little trouble finding my way around the home page, but the list is great; funny and friendly the way I’d like to […]
In last weeks installment of Mr. Al’s in-depth examination of George IV, long-time soul mate, Mrs. Fitzherbert threw in the towel. Do you think the prince noticed? Several events in 1810 were soon to overshadow whatever pain the Prince might have experienced at the loss of Mrs. Fitzherbert. In May of that year, the Duke of Cumberland, “Alias, the Black Sheep” as his brother, the Duke of Kent referred to him, had involved himself in a nasty scandal. The Duke […]
I have some sort of leak going. In a regular house I’d have a good idea where it was coming from and what to do about it, but in a mobile home, I’m baffled. Water coming up through the floor in weird places. First it was the closet pictured above. I traced that to a dishwasher two rooms away. Now it’s in the hall. There is no basement for it to be coming up. It might somehow be making it’s […]
Molly from The Bumbles Blog just gave me an award! I love awards, and this is a cool one. This is supposed to be one of those meme type awards, and if anyone wants to link back to me I’d be grateful, but I’m just going to toss this at some blogs I like without worrying about the rules. If you want to do the meme part, you can get the rules off of The Bumbles Blog. She picked a […]
This is going to be as much a description as a recipe. It’s just a basic method of making omelets. butter or margarine 2 eggs a splash of milk some cheese stuff 🙂 Stuff can be onions, bell pepper, tomato, ham, sausage, mushroom, or anything else you like. I highly recommend getting the stuff ready by chopping it into manageable pieces before you grab your frying pan. crack the eggs into a bowl and mix with a fork. You need […]
Jill: Oops. This one makes more sense if saw the one I did last week – the one called “Rescue.” Today’s theme is aftermath Previously in Jack and Jill Rescue Saturday photo scavenger hunt The rules for Photohunt can be found here. Be sure to visit the home page.
Last week Ben found his father hanging out at Gene’s house. “What are you doing, going back to my place?” Ben wished Gene would keep his voice down. It was bad enough he had to come along, walking too slow most of the time. When they left Gene’s place with his change of clothes half an hour before not only was Ben’s dad hanging around as if he and Gene’s dad were really friends when they weren’t, but a little […]

In my last installment I mentioned that the Prince proved his sensitivity to social conventions by having Mrs Fitzherbert present while he had his new girlfriend, Lady Hertford, over for dinner. My regular readers will not be surprised to learn that Mrs Fitzherbert found this intolerable. After the business with Lady Jersey, she had no desire to go through that again. With the greatest reluctance, she asked the Prince to keep his distance. Mrs. Fitzherbert’s attachment to the Prince would […]
more animals They made me play in the snow with them. They threatened to bring it into the house if I didn’t go out and slide down their hill. They had a snowball fight going by the time I got out there. It was scary. When was the last time someone forced you to play in the snow? Did you like it? Do you miss it? Personally, I recommend it – for a minute or two anyway.
I was goofing around with my camera a couple of days ago, trying to capture the feel of being surrounded by mountains for mile after mile. What do you think? Did I do it? These were all taken on I15 either in Idaho or Montana. I took them while driving 65 to 75 mph.
We eat a lot of this. I never bother with a mix for it, unless it’s one I prepped myself. 1 c flour 1 c cornmeal 1/4 c sugar 4 tsp baking powder 1 scant tsp salt 2 eggs 1 c milk 1/4 c veg. oil Combine dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk and oil. Mix until smooth. Pour into 9x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 425 for 20 to 25 min. Check it out, a new meme:
Jill: I sure hope this works. Stay tuned for next week when the theme is “Aftermath.” Today’s theme is hope Previously in Jack and Jill Squeeky Clean Saturday photo scavenger hunt The rules for Photohunt can be found here. Be sure to visit the home page.
Last time Ben was horrified to have Mrs. D return to class. He didn’t know she was, and still is on probation. Gene’s father leaves much to be desired, as does Ben’s. Ben followed Gene back to Gene’s place. If he’d been thinking, he’d have had Gene meet him at home – at Mom’s house. It was on account of Mrs. D. that he didn’t think about it. She was all weird now. She smiled in that way that gave […]
