By George! Heavy Weighs the Crown in Turbulent Times

In the later years of his life, George IV may have partied a little less hardy, but he still had an interest in some of his old pursuits. It was very unfortunate that His Majesty seemed to be losing his grip when he did, although it must be said that he never lost it as completely as did his father. Demand for reforms had been growing since the days of his Regency. Catholic emancipation was on the front burner, in […]

66/365 Trucklet

Look what we got last week. We were beginning to think it would never come. Don’t ask me the make and model. All I know is that it was made in China by Tonka. I kid you not.

A Spammer

Last Thursday I posted a list of some of the spam that has tried to insinuate it’s way into the comments on my blog. In that list was simply a number. Today I’m going to talk all about that number. The number is 194.8.75.141. This is a number that marks a particular person, the one who is sending me the most spam. I took that number to a site that can match it up with the the person’s personal information. […]

The Guardian by Angela Knight

I’m giving away a copy of Guardian by Angela Knight in a random drawing from anyone who says they are interested in the comments on this post. I’ll announce the winner on Wednesday. This is from the pile of books I brought home from the National Romance Writer’s of America convention. It’s a Paranormal Romance put out by Berkley. If you get into this kind of thing, you’ll like it. The Heroine, Riane Arvid, is a time cop. She chases […]

Used To It

This is an in-joke for people who followed my Jack and Jill series over this summer. For those of you who missed it, Jack and Jill’s dog, Tonic, got switched for one that is smarter, but strange. This alarmed them for a while, but now they are used to it. Jill: Oh no! Jack: Is it contagious? Today’s theme is upside down Previously in Jack and Jill The Lamp: a Shaggy Dog Story Saturday photo scavenger hunt The rules for […]

Suzie’s House 131: A Way In

“Why didn’t you give the tickets to me,” Gene asked. He and Lisa stood under a street light, or maybe it should be called a sidewalk light since it wasn’t near any street. It was along the walk way leading up to the coliseum where ShapeShifter was going to play. They were waiting for Ben, who was talking to some guys unloading a truck. “You were busy at the time.” Lisa shrugged.

Click on picture to go to hub. Every day, a little further. Each time, a stretching up, a whoosh and a whrrr, as the world goes by. Dash to the mark, then place the foot just so. Take. Off. Launch into the stars. Reach for the heavens. Count breathlessly until gravity can endure no more. Only count the cost after the landing.

I have no idea how this picture came to be on my camera. I suspect someone in the family grabbed my camera for a quick picture.

13 spammers

Does it seem to you like lately the spammers have been more creative? Check out some of the comments they tried to leave on my blog: 1. Left on the T13 I did a little while back about manga: Why is a square meal served on round plates? 2. A refinancing “service” left on one of Mr. Al’s Wednesday posts on history: punctilious post. simply one decimal where I quarrel with it. I am emailing you in detail. If the […]
