Give these a try. 6 Tbs buttter 1/3 c shortening 3/4 c sugar 1 egg 2 c flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 Tbs milk 1 tsp vanilla Beat butter, shortening, sugar and egg together one at a time.
