Jill: There. Now that we have a good fortune kitty, things should be looking up. Jack: How is that supposed to work anyway? Jill: What do you mean? Jack: Well, is it because the thing is yellow? Jill: I don’t think so. Jack: Because the hand waves? Jill: Um… maybe? Jack: Because it’s got stuff written on it in that foreign language? Jill: *sigh* I guess because it’s yellow. Jack: Awesome! Today’s themes are Awesome and Yellow More can be […]
Ben’s English teacher assigned a series of writing assignments to the class. This is Ben’s first effort. In this one, he was supposed to write a poem that begins “I am from” (For those who don’t know, Ben is a fictional character in the Suzie’s House series.) I am from a dad who tried to kill somebody and ended up in jail and a mom who is more interested in adopting my best friend than in making my birthday cake. […]
Drums 1. Conga 2. Ashiko 3. Dumbek 4. Frame Drum 5. Taktak Other percussion 6. Shekare 7. Gong 8. Maracas Stringed Instruments 9. Piano 10. Kemchi 11. Psaltery 12. Uru 13. Bull Roar I’m counting the bull roar as a string instrument because it won’t work without the string, but rather than being plucked or rubbed with a bow, to make it sound, you swing it around in a big circle. Not an indoor instrument. BTW, I’m still working on […]
“How come Gene’s all scary-moody again?” Tracy sat in the Math classroom, but had her Social Studies book open. Lisa had never seen her act so studious. Tracy paused to wave her pencil in the air. “I mean, just because he’s got his nose all bent doesn’t mean he has to growl at me.” “Um… Tracy? Math is going to start soon. Are you sure you should be working on that?”
I’m so glad to see Raven back with more Tryst, a tale of S&M. Things are starting to heat up with the story, so I feel it best to offer a content warning. If you’re underage, or easily offended, don’t go. Otherwise, remember to comment. 🙂 This is the hub for The Serialists, a meme for people who post original, serialized fiction on their blogs. Jill: What fresh produce? Seems to me the only thing fresh around here is you. Today’s theme is Fresh Previously in Jack and Jill: Whistle Stop Photohunt
I don’t remember his name. He gave me a ride from the Romance Writers of America convention to the airport. He barely spoke English, having haled from Shri Lanka, but insisted on filling the silence with as many of my words as he could. To get them, he had to talk too, and so we argued the nature of love, devotion, and Romance. The challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to write a story in exactly 55 words. […]
A month ago I still have the luxury of time to occasionally play video games. Now that Tax Season is underway, that time is gone. Here are 13 I might be plying right this minute if I could spare the time. 1. Spyro; Ripto’s Rage 2. Saga Frontier 2 3. Dragon Quest VIII 4. Antigrav 5. Dark Cloud 6. Final Fantasy X-2 7. Final Fantasy IX 8. Grandia 9. Azure Dreams 10. The Legend of Dragoon 11. Final Fantasy XII […]
Gene thought about hiding so Mrs. H. wouldn’t catch him watching, but then his jaw got tight and his back bunched up. He told himself he wasn’t mad, but he didn’t hide at all. So right after kissing that guy, that lawyer guy, she turned around and there he was, standing in the window with his arms crossed, looking right at her.
To be honest, I’ve had some problems following some of the more recent episodes of Scorpius, but last week started pulling it all together for me. Have you been following along? What do you think?
